HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screen)
Our qualified engineers can help develop a custom production screen that identifies process and vendor defects. Defects that can compromise product reliability.
The goal in HASS is to develop a screen that will verify that the production process or purchasing substitutions do not impact the reliability gained through the HALT process.
HASS is intended to be a final screen in the manufacturing process. It detects defects that traditional inspection and testing will not. HASS causes latent failures to become actual failures without removing a significant amount of the product’s life.
By its definition, all products produced are run through the HASS. Those that fail have RCCA performed while the good units are shipped. This process eliminated defects from reaching the customer. As a result, DOA are non-existent, early warranty failures disappear and products work even beyond their warranty period leaving the customer delighted and the bottom line increased due to the reduced overhead of field support.
HASS consists of HASS development and Proof of Screen.
HASA (Highly Accelerated Stress Audit)
Same as a HASS but instead of testing all products coming off the manufacturing line you now run only a sample. Generally this is done once you have all issues resolved in HASS.
Customer Defined Test Services
This testing may not strictly follow the HALT and HASS services offered by QTS; instead, it takes a more traditional and selective approach to environmental testing. Customers define and direct the testing process, using the temperature and/or vibration stresses available in a HALT chamber. These stresses include 6 degree of freedom vibration to 60 Grms and Thermal conditions from -100 degrees C to 200 degrees C. We can achieve a thermal ramp rate of 60 degrees C on the product, not just the surrounding air.
Types of customer defined testing available:
- Production Screening
- Vibration or Thermal Only Testing
- Thermal Cycling
On-site Services
If the customer cannot come to QTS we can come to the customer site. Our testing experts will provide specialized HALT/HASS testing and training on customer equipment at their site. We will provide this training on any QualMark as well as on any non-QualMark test equipment.
Consulting Services
Our staff of experienced engineers will work with customers to conduct the type of tests needed. QTS can help maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of existing protocols and procedures, whatever the customer goals may be. We also offer free educational seminars on HALT and HASS at your site or ours.
